Productivity is about producing, generating or creating your “what” in the optimal timeframe possible. Accountability is the process that enables you to achieve your productivity now.” –Marian Sparks

You’re an entrepreneur or small business owner who does a majority of your work online or with a PC. You know that time is your most valuable asset. And so you’d like to achieve your business objectives in as few steps and the shortest time possible.  That’s where productivity and accountability come in.  If you’re going it alone without a coach or mastermind to help you get there faster, consider these two free online resources to keep you on track and help you achieve more of your business goals and daily or weekly actions to achieve business success…

Leverage Public Commitment to Fuel Daily Productivity on Twitter

Making a public commitment to accomplish a project or specific course of action can drive your productivity.  There’s something about “doing what you said you would do” publicly that creates an invisible force to get you going.  Also if you’re externally driven with a healthy dose of the competitive “gene”, knowing that so-and-so achieved what they set out can spark you into action.

For current Twitter users, you simply use the #dailygoals or #tdg hashtag in your tweets to accomplish your business goals with public commitment.  And when you use the accompanying Track Daily Goals site, you can see how fellow Twitterers have progressed throughout the day.  Learn more here.

Track Simple Business Goals with Easy-to-Use & Intuitive Productivity Tool

A simple tracking system that shows how you’re progressing on a goal over time illuminates where course corrections are necessary. Excel spreadsheets aren’t as informative (unless you know how to create a macro).  And MS Project is too cludgey for what you need.  Announcing Goals on Track. It tracks time spent on a project, specific actions accomplished and a journal to capture your 15 minute end-of-day ritual.  I like how you can set up an email reminder for a summary of what needs to be accomplished the next morning.  And I like the visual of charts plus dashboard.  In less than 2 minutes you can set up your free account and immediately start using this simple and intuitive online tool (no training or videos required).  And if you find it invaluable for your daily workflow, you can upgrade after 30 days to track an unlimited number of goals.

How are you tracking Productivity and Accountability towards your desired Business outcomes?
