Start Blogging – Take the Course

Last week’s Action Strategy encouraged you to avoid the perfectionism bug and simply get started to develop the habit of blogging.   Remember, the key to developing a habit is to simply start.  To start you need motivation.

“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” — Jim Ryun

But what if you had a partner, someone who was in the trenches with you, who you can reach out for assistance?  Successful business executives use an executive coach, olympic athletes use a professional coach, so why don’t you use someone to help you reach your business goals?  We’ll pursue the topic of a support system next week.

To support you in starting and achieving your blogging goals, you’ll want to check out this resource.

One reader offline asked for a way to learn more about the why-to’s and how-to’s of blogging.  Instead of sending you to a myriad of free articles, blog sites, etc., I’ve decided to invite you to take action with me.

I’m evaluating a multi-media course on bloggingfrom the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.

And I invite you to let me know that you’ve enrolled and together can exchange our thoughts on the course. I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on the content, the interactive learning style and which pieces you will act upon.  Here’s how to continue the dialogue

(1) Provide your course comments on your own blog.
This entails you start a blog. You can start one for free (in a matter of seconds) at www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com among others.  From your blog, link back to this entry so that I’ll know you’ve enrolled and we can begin a dialogue.

(2) Post a comment at the end of this post to let me know that you’ve enrolled.
Your email will not be revealed.  If you’ve never posted a comment online before, now is your chance to get past the initial intimidation.  You can say something as simple as “I’ve decided to check out this course” and/or share the reason why you decided to take action.

(3) Make sure you subscribe via email to Spark Action Now to receive my comments on Simpleology’s blogging course.

Next week we’ll explore the topic of a support system (i.e. coach, accountability partner or mastermind) to help you move closer to your goals.
