I attended Adam Urbanski’s Info Profit Success Bootcamp in Anaheim April 23 to 26th! And it was “fantabulous!” (the new word I’ve been using on Twitter).
The single greatest highlight is finally meeting people who I “know” from Twitter in flesh and blood!
As much as I love the flexibility and tools to operate virtually, nothing trumps that personal human connection, ever!
And it’s an incredible feeling when people you didn’t realize knew you exclaim, “You’re MarianSparks!” (and they don’t run for their lives to avoid you!*smile*)
So the lesson for service professionals and information marketers:
Remember to make every tweet count!
It’s not about the quantity of followers but rather the quality of relationships – the sense of community! You’ll be surprised at the impact a simple tweet makes. And your Twitter reputation precedes you when you finally meet in person!
Share the live event experience!
Imagine yourself the ambassador of event insights. You’re a scout. You’re sending your community the pertinent details of what’s happening, when it’s happening, and insights gleaned. You’re describing that people are laughing or singing and why.
And when your tweets move them, your tweeps (Twitter followers) retweet (forward) them to their followers. Before you know it, 100 or more interesting people have started following you!
